Ted Cook Sr.

        Ted Cook, Sr. at age 84, of Mountain Brook, 
passed away on October 16, 2006.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, C. M. and Estelle Cook; one sister, Mary; four brothers, C. M., Jack, Francis and Bill Cook; and grandson, Jeff Crockett. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Klyce Cook; daughters, Terri C. Channel, Donna C. (Steve) Speir; and son, Ted (Margaret) Cook, Jr. all of Birmingham; grandchildren, John Crockett, Steven and Katie Speir, Matthew and Ted Parker Cook. He retired after 35 years as a successful owner of automobile dealerships in Birmingham, including his most recent, Midfield VW Dodge. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; a WWII veteran; a former University of Alabama football player; President of the "A" Club at the University of Alabama in 1946. He played professional football for four years with Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. He was a loving, caring, generous husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. The Funeral Services were held on Thursday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, requested were memorials to be made to Big Oak Ranch, PO Box 507, Springville, AL 35146; The Amelia Center, 1513 4th Ave. S. Birmingham, AL 35233; or Odyssey Hospice 2000B Southbridge Pkwy. Suite 150, Birmingham, AL 35209. 

We will remember him forever.
